Checkmate is a ceramic totem representing the connection between traditional Italian design by iconic firm Bitossi and modern technology.
The project took place during the Google design Marathon and every component of the totem has a symbolic meaning that tells the Google Home story. Checkmate was exhibited at Talking Crafts – Google meets italian Design on 27-28-29 September 2019 and has been featured in important design magazines such as AD Italia, Living by Il corriere della sera, Panorama and Domus.
